Kira provides therapeutic services outside of family law matters, to include individual and family counseling. Her services also entail providing continuing education to family law attorneys and mental health professionals in the community.

COUNSELING

Kira Burgess-Elmer is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the State of Idaho. She has a Master’s degree in Counseling from Northwest Nazarene University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the College of Idaho. She has over 10 years experience in the mental health field, working with all ages and backgrounds. She believes in meeting clients where they are at and working with them from a place of support. She works with children and adolescents, to include those struggling with anxiety, depression, and self-esteem issues. She uses a strengths-based approach to therapy while creating space for the client to explore the connection between life experiences, meaning, and identified strengths to accomplish treatment goals. Kira strives to create an environment where clients feel empowered and supported along their journey of self-discovery.

In addition to traditional therapy, Kira also has extensive training in trauma-informed care, to include suicide prevention and treating suicidality. She has worked in a variety of mental health settings, to include community agencies, institutions, and private practice, treating those struggling with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, addiction and abuse.
